How Cruise Price Tracking Works

We check prices so you don’t have to.

Cruise lines update fares constantly — sometimes multiple times a day. There’s no public record of those changes. The cruise line won’t tell you. Your travel agent probably doesn’t know either.

Every week we capture 35,000+ fare snapshots across 9 cruise lines. Each fare gets a deal score from 0–100 based on up to 12 months of price history for that exact ship and cabin type. Not a generic average — Symphony of the Seas balcony prices compared to other Symphony of the Seas balcony prices.

A score of 80+ means a good deal. Anything lower — set an alert.

What Does Cruise Price History Actually Tell You?

Price history is the context that makes a deal score meaningful. Without knowing where a price has been, you can’t know if where it is today is good or bad.

We broke down exactly how cruise price history works — and what patterns emerge when you track 2.6 million fare snapshots across 9 cruise lines.

9 Cruise Lines. Every Major Sailing. One Deal Score.

We track fares across the lines that matter most to North American cruisers.

Royal Caribbean

The most-tracked line in our database. RC prices are highly volatile, which means the gap between a bad price and a great one is significant.

Carnival Cruise Line

North America’s highest-volume cruise line. Carnival runs frequent promotions — our scoring catches the genuine drops from the noise.

Norwegian Cruise Line

NCL’s “Free at Sea” promotions complicate pricing. We score the base fare directly, so you’re comparing apples to apples.

Celebrity Cruises

Premium pricing with tighter volatility than mass-market lines. A score of 80+ on Celebrity is meaningful — their high prices rarely drop far.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does a cruise price tracker work?
We pull fare data directly from cruise line booking systems on a continuous basis — capturing over 35,000 price snapshots weekly. Each fare gets scored against up to 12 months of its own price history to produce a deal score from 0–100. A score of 75+ means the current price is better than 75% of all prices we've recorded for that sailing and cabin type.
Can I track Royal Caribbean prices specifically?
Yes. Royal Caribbean is the most tracked cruise line in our system. Search any RC sailing above to see its current deal score and price history. You can also read our Royal Caribbean price tracker guide for a deeper breakdown of RC pricing patterns.
How do I get a cruise price drop alert?
Search your sailing above, then click "Track" on any result. You'll be prompted to create a free account. Once set up, we'll email you when the price drops on your tracked sailing. Pro subscribers get alerts within 6 hours of a price change.
How often are cruise prices updated?
Our system captures new fare snapshots daily across all 9 cruise lines. Most sailings are updated every 24–48 hours. Pro subscribers get access to our most frequently updated inventory.
What does the deal score mean?
The score (0–100) tells you how today's price compares to up to 12 months of pricing for that exact ship and cabin type. A score of 90 means the current fare is lower than 90% of all prices we've recorded — a strong signal to book. A score of 40 means prices are historically high right now — a signal to wait and track.
Is cruise price tracking free?
Yes. Searching fares and seeing deal scores is completely free. Price alerts, unlimited tracking, and advanced features are available with a Pro subscription.
