Celebrity WiFi typically costs about $22 per night for Basic and $25 per night for Premium, which now covers three devices. We track both prices daily across all 14 Celebrity ships, and the ship you sail is the biggest factor in what you pay.
The other thing our data shows: the discounts on Premium are no longer just a label. Over the last 90 days, more than half of Premium prices sat 15% or more below list.

What Basic and Premium Wi-Fi Actually Do
Basic keeps you in touch. Premium lets you share, stream and call.
Celebrity describes Basic as "good for light browsing and staying connected, but it doesn't support streaming or video calls." In practice that means email, messaging apps and web pages. Celebrity's own FAQ adds that on Basic you "won't be able to email large files, share photos or videos on social media, use streaming apps, or make video calls."
Premium removes those limits: video chat, posting photos and video, large email attachments and streaming. On Celebrity Apex, Beyond, Ascent and Xcel, Premium also lets you stream to your stateroom TV. Celebrity describes Premium as "powered by Starlink."
A few rules worth knowing before you buy:
- Devices. The Premium plan in the Cruise Planner is sold as "Premium 3 Devices," so one purchase covers three phones, tablets or laptops. For a couple, that is one purchase, not two.
- Basic is pre-cruise only. Celebrity says Basic "must be purchased before your cruise or as part of the All Included plan." You cannot buy it onboard.
- No gratuity. Celebrity's 20% gratuity applies to drinks, specialty dining, spa and room service. Wi-Fi is not on the list.

The gap between Basic and Premium is small. On most ships Premium costs $1 to $3 a night more than Basic, and on Celebrity Equinox they are often the same price. On a 7-night cruise, Premium on a typical ship runs about $175 against $154 for Basic, and Premium covers three devices.
The bigger swing is within a ship. Premium on Celebrity Beyond has ranged from $23 to $36 a night depending on the sailing and the day you check. That $13 gap is about $90 over a week.

How to Get Celebrity WiFi Free (or Cheaper)
Book an All Included fare
All Included bundles unlimited Basic Wi-Fi and the Classic Drinks Package into your fare. It also covers the gratuity on the drinks package, though the daily crew gratuities are still charged separately. It is only available when you book, so it cannot be added later, and Celebrity does not offer it on Galapagos sailings.
If you want streaming on All Included, Celebrity lists the upgrade to Premium at $9.99 per person per day. You can upgrade before the cruise or onboard, but Celebrity says the pre-cruise rate is lower.
Book a Retreat suite
Retreat suites include the Premium Wi-Fi package for the first two guests in the suite, along with Premium Drinks. Celebrity notes this does not apply to special fares or to Moveup upgrades into cabins below a Signature Suite.
Use your Captain's Club status
Celebrity's loyalty program discounts Wi-Fi at every tier, and the top tier gets it free. From Celebrity's current benefits brochure:

The discounts only combine with pre-cruise pricing, which is one more reason to buy before you sail. Celebrity's terms also say the free minutes are used before any Basic Wi-Fi included in your fare.
Use the free Wi-Fi you already have
- The Celebrity app works without a package. Connect to the ship's guest network and use it at no charge.
- CocoCay has Wi-Fi that Celebrity says matches the ship's. All Included guests connect automatically, though service may be limited on some beaches.
- Ports. Many port cafes and cruise terminals offer Wi-Fi, which covers app updates, downloads and photo backups between sea days.
Which Plan Do You Actually Need?
Match the plan to how you will use it
The math has shifted toward Premium. When Basic and Premium are $1 to $3 apart and Premium covers three devices, a couple who would otherwise buy two Basic plans usually saves money with one Premium plan.
When to Buy: Before the Cruise or Onboard?
Buy before you sail. Celebrity states that "Pre-Cruise pricing is always lower than onboard," and Basic is not sold onboard at all.
Within the pre-cruise window, our data answers the question most guides guess at:
- Waiting does not make it cheaper. On a given sailing, the typical Premium price is the same 6 months out as it is 2 weeks out. There is no last-minute discount.
- Prices do move. Of the sailings we tracked for at least 30 days, 98% saw at least one Premium price drop in the last 90 days, and the average sailing saw about seven.
- The swings are worth catching. The typical sailing moved $10 a night between its highest and lowest Premium price, or $70 over a 7-night cruise. Right now, two in three sailings are priced above their 90-day low, usually by about $2 a night.
So the practical approach is to buy when you are ready, then keep an eye on the price. Celebrity does not publish a refund rule for Wi-Fi packages, so check the cancellation terms in your Cruise Planner before you cancel and rebuy at a lower price.
Is the "Sale" Price Real?
Celebrity shows most Wi-Fi prices next to a higher crossed-out list price. Over the last 90 days, that discount has meant different things for the two plans:

For Premium, the discounts are real and frequent. A quarter of all Premium prices were 25% or more below list. For Basic, deep discounts are rare: a third of the time it sells at full price, and it almost never drops 25% below list.
A good Premium price is $23 a night or less, the cheapest quarter of everything we tracked this month. Anything at $21 or less is in the cheapest 10%. For Basic, $21 is a good price and $18 or less is a great one.

Staying Connected Without a Package
If you skip Wi-Fi entirely, you still have options:
- The Celebrity app works free on the guest network for schedules, dining reservations and onboard info.
- Cellular at sea is billed by your phone carrier, at rates Celebrity says are similar to international roaming. Check your plan before you sail, or keep your phone in airplane mode at sea.
- Ship-to-shore calls cost $7.95 a minute, from your stateroom or when family calls the ship.
- Port and CocoCay Wi-Fi covers the basics on port days.
- Download before you board. Shows, music, maps and boarding passes saved before you sail need no connection at all.
How Celebrity WiFi Compares to Royal Caribbean
Royal Caribbean, Celebrity's sister line, sells one main plan, VOOM Surf + Stream, which includes streaming. It typically runs about $21 per night, with a range of $18 to $32 across 32 ships (our Royal Caribbean WiFi data).

Royal Caribbean is cheaper for one person with one device. Once two or three devices are online in the same cabin, Celebrity's Premium plan comes out ahead.
