Royal Caribbean put Symphony of the Seas' dining on sale for a week in September. When the promotion ended, five of the ship's six specialty restaurants came back more expensive than they had been going in.

Chops Grille is the clearest case. It held at $47.99 all summer, dipped during the sale week, then reopened at $51.99 on September 17 and has not moved since.

The Unlimited Dining Package, meanwhile, went back to exactly where it started. The discount was real. So was the reset underneath it.

Quick Answer: What Symphony of the Seas Dining Costs

TL;DR
Option (per person)Sale weekTypicalList price
Unlimited Dining (per night)$37.99$40.99$59.00
Unlimited Dining, holiday sailings (per night)$71.99$71.99$85.00
Chops Grille + Your Choice (2 dinners)$77.99$83.99$105.00
3 Night Dining Package$127.99$135.99$171.00
Chops Grille dinner$47.99$51.99$65.00
  • The sale left prices higher: five of the six specialty restaurants came back from the September promotion $3 to $4 more expensive and stayed there.
  • A sale week every month: the package has dropped to $37.99 in five separate windows since June.
  • The package itself has not moved: $40.99 a night has been the normal price since March.
  • Eight sailings break the pattern: Symphony's new Fort Lauderdale season is sold as one flat fee instead of a nightly rate.

What Unlimited Dining Actually Costs

Budget $40.99 a night. That is the price two thirds of the time, and it has not changed since March.

The Unlimited Dining Package covers specialty restaurant dinners for every night of the cruise. On Symphony that means Chops Grille, 150 Central Park, Hooked Seafood, Wonderland, Jamie's Italian and Izumi.

Unlimited Dining PackagePer person, per night
Tracked low$28.99
Sale-week price$37.99
Typical price$40.99
Christmas and New Year sailings$71.99
Current list price$59.00

The holiday pair is its own market. The two late-December departures carry a separate list price of $85.00 and sell at $71.99, which is more than a walk-up Chops Grille dinner costs, every night of the week.

The Sale Comes Around Every Month

Unlike the drink package, this one has a real sale. It is worth $3 a night and it is reasonably predictable.

Since June, the package has dropped to $37.99 in five separate windows.

Sale windowLengthPrice
June 18 to 236 days$37.99
July 15 to 2814 days$37.99
August 12 to 165 days$37.99
September 9 to 157 days$37.99
September 30 to October 67 days$37.99

That is 38 discounted days out of the last 138, so the package is marked down a bit more than a quarter of the time. Over a 7-night sailing the sale is worth about $21 per person, which is real but will not change anyone's decision on its own.

The pattern is close to what we found on its Oasis-class sister, where the same $3 cut arrives on a similar rhythm. Our Harmony of the Seas dining package guide tracks that one week by week.

The September Sale Ended $4 Higher

The package went back to its old price. The restaurants did not.

Here is every specialty dinner on Symphony before the September sale week and after it.

RestaurantBefore the saleSince September 17
Chops Grille$47.99$51.99
150 Central Park$47.99$51.99
Hooked Seafood$47.99$51.99
Wonderland$44.99$47.99
Jamie's Italian$40.99$43.99
Izumi Hibachi Experience$58.99$58.99

Five of six went up, and none of them has come back down in the month since.

Izumi is the exception worth knowing. Its dinner cover has sat at $37.99 since the spring, which quietly makes it the best value seat on the ship and the hardest night for the package to beat.

Eight Sailings Are Priced a Completely Different Way

Symphony's new Fort Lauderdale season is not sold by the night at all.

Eight sailings opened for sale on October 8, starting with the August 18, 2027 departure. Every one of them is quoted as a single cruise-long fee rather than a nightly rate.

How it is soldPriceWorks out to
4-night sailing, flat fee$346.99About $87 a night
6-night sailing, flat fee$346.99About $58 a night
8-night sailing, flat fee$346.99About $43 a night
Every other sailing, per night$40.99$40.99 a night

The fee does not change with the length of the cruise, so the shorter the sailing, the worse it reads. On a 4-night cruise it is roughly double the nightly rate everyone else is paying.

Whether this is the new standard or a placeholder on freshly loaded sailings, we cannot say yet. It has held for nine straight days of tracking, and we will update this guide when it moves. If you are booked on that season, buying is not urgent.

Package or Per Meal on a 7-Night Sailing

You need six specialty dinners out of seven nights before Unlimited Dining pays for itself.

At the typical price the package costs about $287 per person for the week. Six Chops Grille dinners cost more than that. Five cost less.

What you buyCost per personPer dinner
Unlimited Dining, 7 nightsAbout $287$40.99
Unlimited Dining, 7 nights in a sale weekAbout $266$37.99
5 Night Dining Package$219.99$44.00
3 Night Dining Package$135.99$45.33
Chops Grille + Your Choice$83.99$42.00
Chops Grille, walk-up$51.99$51.99

The two-dinner bundle is the quiet winner for most people. It beats the walk-up steakhouse cover by about a fifth and asks nothing of your week beyond two reservations.

The honest read. Unlimited Dining only works if specialty dining is the plan rather than the treat. If you would genuinely eat at Chops or 150 Central Park most nights, it wins. If your list is Izumi twice and one steakhouse night, the fixed packages are cheaper and you keep the flexibility.

Dining is the steadier of the two big pre-buys on this ship. Drinks move week to week with no settled price, while the dinner covers change a few times a year and then sit still. Our Royal Caribbean dining package prices guide covers how Symphony's numbers compare across the rest of the fleet.

How We Track This Data

Every number here comes from All Aboard Deals' own Cruise Planner tracking. We have checked Symphony of the Seas dining prices daily since February 13, 2026, across 82 sailings.

That adds up to more than 172,000 dining price records for this ship alone. All prices are per person in US dollars, and reflect the lowest adult price recorded at each check. The October 15 board is the last complete run before publication.

This is about eight months of daily history, and as the tracking window grows we will update this guide. For what the cabin itself costs, our Harmony versus Symphony price comparison puts this ship against its closest fleetmate.

Our Royal Caribbean price tracker scores every Symphony of the Seas fare 0-100 against 126,212 tracked price snapshots for this ship, so you know whether the cabin price is fair before you start adding packages.

Frequently Asked Questions

The Unlimited Dining Package is typically $40.99 per person, per night, which works out to about $287 on a 7-night sailing. During Royal Caribbean's monthly sale weeks it drops to $37.99. The two Christmas and New Year departures are priced separately at $71.99.
A Chops Grille dinner now costs $51.99, so you need six specialty dinners across a 7-night cruise before the package pays for itself. If your picks are the cheaper kitchens, it never catches up. Izumi dinner runs $37.99, and seven of those still cost less than a week of the package.
Dinner cover charges run from $37.99 at Izumi to $58.99 at Izumi Hibachi. Chops Grille, 150 Central Park and Hooked Seafood all sit at $51.99. The Chef's Table is $84.99.
Yes, for about a week every month. Since June the price has dropped from $40.99 to $37.99 in five separate windows, the shortest five days and the longest two weeks. The most recent ran September 30 to October 6.
Royal Caribbean reset the cover charges straight after the September promotion. Chops Grille, 150 Central Park and Hooked Seafood all reset to $51.99 on September 17 and have not moved since. Wonderland and Jamie's Italian both rose $3.
Not per night. The fixed three-night package is $135.99, which is $45.33 a dinner. That is more than the Unlimited Package charges for every night of a 7-night cruise, so it only makes sense if three dinners is genuinely all you want.
